InnoTrans is the biggest trade fair of the railway industry, in Berlin every two years – not only vehicles and infrastructure companies are present but also planning consultants, timetabling and passenger information systems. Until I have the time to write about this latter group (closer to my research area than vehicles), here are some photos:
- 175 Jahre deutsche Eisenbahnen
- A great design for the newest tram system at the moment: Stadler Variobahn for Bergen, Norway. As well as an AnsaldoBreda metro for Rome.
- Bombardier
- Bombardier Zefiro designed for China for 380 km/h service speed
- Chemical toilet systems – InnoTrans is a really comprehensive exhibition.
- ETR 610 tilting test
- ETR 610 tilting test
- ICE 2
- One of the very few Hungarian exhibitors. No comment.
- Real time transfer information
- Solaris tram from Poland
- Solaris tram interior
- Something you don’t normally see in the German speaking countries: ticket gates.
- Stadler Desto doubledeck EMU for the future Austrian private rail operator Westbahn.
- Swiss panoramic car
- The modular locomotive (i.e. TRAXX competitor) of Siemens
- The newest sub-surface car for the London Underground (for the Metropolitan line in particular)
- The Stadler Desto double-deck EMU has just been renamed to KISS (the reasons are beyond my understanding)
- This stainless steel car is designed for the Hamburger Hochbahn (metro)
- You can take your bicycle not only on the Berlin S-Bahn but also on buses and trams. (Photo: Daniel Sparing)
